Volkswagen ID.4-what will it look like and when will it be ready?
The first electric SUV from Volkswagen, ID.4, is approaching with quick steps to the official presentation. Autocar writes that the model will be shown at the new York auto show, which will take place in April. Although fans of the brand were expecting it at the Geneva motor show, Volkswagen is in no hurry. It will unveil its first electric SUV only in April in new York.The car will be based on the ID Crozz concept introduced two years ago, in new York. This will keep the proportions of the concept, which measure 4625 millimeters long, 1891 millimeters wide, and 1609 millimeters high, but will approach a simpler design.
The concept was equipped with two electric motors, one located on each of the bridges. The electric motor on the front axle delivered 102 horsepower, and on the rear axle 204 horsepower, for a total of 306 horsepower. Thus, the system provides all-wheel drive, but Volkswagen also takes into account the offer of a single-engine version with rear-wheel drive.A lithium-ion battery installed on the floor and having a capacity of 83 kWh provides it with autonomy of up to 500 kilometers in the NEDC cycle, but the Germans are preparing, as in the case of ID.3, two more batteries. It is based on the MEB platform, which the Volkswagen group has reserved for the ID family.
